Landfill Gas to Energy Plant Temporarily Shut Down at the Request of DTE

The “Landfill Gas to Energy Plant” located at the Arbor Hills Landfill has been temporarily shut down at the request of DTE. The recovered landfill gases are being directed to the three flares at the site during the energy plant shutdown. The shutdown was requested by DTE and is believed to be a result of the recent storm-related damage in the area. Below is the notification we received from Arbor Hills announcing the shutdown.

Arbor Hills received notification from Fortistar that DTE has asked them to halt operations until further notice. The estimated downtime is wide-ranging and can be anywhere from 8 hours to 2 days. All flares onsite will be in operation to accommodate gas during this period.
