A new Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Center will be opening at 10843 West Five Mile Road, inside the Arbor Hills Landfill Complex. The Household Hazardous Waste Center will serve:
Northville Township Residents
Residents of the City of Northville
Washtenaw County Residents
The HHW center was constructed by Green For Life (GFL) as one requirement of a multimillion-dollar legal settlement between GFL and Michigan regulators to resolve environmental violations related to hundreds of odor complaints from residents living near the landfill. The HHW center will be operated by the Washtenaw County Department of Public Works. In accordance with the settlement, the landfill built the facility, covers the waste disposal costs, and helps fund the labor required to operate the site.
The HHW center will be open Tue - Thur, from 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Appointments are needed to drop off your Household Hazardous Waste. Information on the types of materials that can be accepted and an on-line appointment system can be found on the Washtenaw County Web site at https://www.washtenaw.org/287/Household-Hazardous-Waste-Disposal
