How You Can Help
Your voice matters, and we need you!
1) HELP OUT AND VOLUNTEER
The Conservancy Initiative needs your help to oppose the proposed NEW LANDFILL:
Help us prepare for and run the next Town Hall and future public events
Attend public meetings and make comments
Do you have Social Media marketing experience? We can use your help! Anyone with social media marketing experience and some free time would be greatly appreciated!
If you can help in any of these ways, please contact us at info@theconservancyinitiative.org
2) CONTACT ELECTED OFFICIALS
Ensure elected officials understand how the landfill impacts our community and urge them to oppose the NEW LANDFILL Proposal.
Call the office of elected officials, write letters and emails, attend coffee hour meetings, etc. (Note: In-person encounters with elected officials are most effective.) <LINK>
3) TELL THE WASHTENAW COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS YOUR OPINION!
Communicating with the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners may be our best chance to oppose the proposed NEW LANDFILL. The Board of Commissioners meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays every month at 7 PM. Public comments (limited to 3 minutes) are allowed for in-person or online attendees (in-person comments are most effective). The commissioners often will respond to many comments. <LINK>
4) SIGN THE PETITION OPPOSING THE NEW LANDFILL
Share the petition with Friends, Family, and Neighbors. <LINK>
5) KEEP SUBMITTING ODOR COMPLAINTS!
When landfill odors are present, use The Conservancy Initiative's Odor reporting system to report the odor. <LINK>
6) DONATE $
The Conservancy Initiative is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run by unpaid volunteers. We are using targeted marketing, brochures, and signs to reach Washtenaw County and area residents to explain the landfill issues. Please consider donating to help offset the costs of these efforts—and we thank you in advance for your donations! <LINK>
