Before the end of the year, Washtenaw County Commissioners will face a critical choice: protect the health and safety of our community or take "cash for trash" from Canada by allowing a NEW LANDFILL in Salem Township. Please donate now.

The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners has the authority to approve or reject this proposal, and they have said constituent input will be central to their decision‑making. TCI must quickly expand voter education and outreach in Washtenaw County, so Commissioners hear clearly from their voters.

A Canadian company, GFL, is already making Washtenaw County a dumping ground for Canadian trash and wants to build a new garbage dump next to a heavily populated area that includes an elementary school. A new dump here is unneeded, unsafe, and unfair. Michigan already has decades of landfill capacity; GFL's existing dump has a long record of violations and odor complaints; and nearby communities bear the pollution without the financial benefit.

Money raised through this challenge will be used to educate and mobilize Washtenaw County voters—through digital campaigns, direct mail, yard signs, and in‑person outreach—so Commissioners clearly understand that Washtenaw County residents oppose a new landfill.
